High-Speed Chase Culminates in Multi-Car Crash, Children Among Injured
In Raleigh, a high-speed police chase ended in a four-car crash near Capital Boulevard, injuring six, including two children.
The sequence of events started when Raleigh Police attempted to stop a woman driving a stolen vehicle involved in a robbery. Although the chase was terminated for safety, the suspect continued at high speed, leading to a major accident involving three other vehicles.
The area of the crash is known for its busy intersections and proximity to downtown. The driver of the stolen vehicle was apprehended, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding the risks associated with police pursuits in urban settings.

Duke University is set to welcome Jerry Seinfeld as the commencement speaker at its public graduation ceremony scheduled for May 12 at Wallace Wade Stadium.
The announcement, which was made during the Battle of the Blues game, comes in response to student requests for a speaker who could deliver both laughter and insight.
Seinfeld's connection to Duke is personal; he is the parent of both a Duke alumna and a current student, and actively participates in university activities with his wife, Jessica. Read full story
Carolina Hurricanes Skate into New Territory with Beer Stick

Credit: Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes have introduced the beer stick, an innovative way to enjoy beer from a hockey stick-shaped vessel, reinforcing Raleigh's status as a true Hockey Town and enhancing the fan experience.
However, the beer stick does come with a practical consideration: its shape, while perfect for holding, may not easily rest in conventional cup holders, posing a challenge to avoid spillage. Despite this, the excitement it brings outweighs any minor inconvenience, embodying the spirit of a true fan who wouldn’t dream of putting down their beer, let alone during a game.
The introduction of the beer stick reflects a broader commitment to the sport, from the team's competitive edge on the ice to the unique ways it engages with its supporters, ensuring that PNC Arena remains a vibrant and engaging venue, especially as the playoffs approach.

The Answer to the Cary Spotlight Hook Trivia Question 👇👇👇
A) Vigdis Finnbogadottir
Vigdis Finnbogadottir became the first elected female president of a country (Iceland) in 1980.
When Finnbogadottir was elected in her country’s top job, she did not only become the world’s first elected woman president, but she went on to being the world’s longest-serving one as well. She was the country’s president for 16 years, between 1980 and 1996, and many Icelandic women and girls grew up with her as a role model, encouraging others to be involved in the country’s political life.
