Insurance Challenges and Shortages Follow Replacement of Key Asthma Drug for Kids
After GSK replaced Flovent with a generic version named fluticasone, many patients have struggled to obtain the medication due to insurance not covering the generic. This has put children with asthma, like four-year-old Bryce Cohen, at risk as their families and doctors face difficulties securing the necessary treatment.
The switch was influenced by financial considerations related to Medicaid rebates, but has led to complications with insurance formularies not listing the generic as a preferred medication, requiring cumbersome approval processes for alternatives that are often not suitable for young children.
Despite the challenges, healthcare providers are striving to find solutions, highlighting the tension between pharmaceutical pricing strategies and patient access to essential medications. Read Full Article

Psychology of a Hero: MATILDA
Presented by A Different Attitude Counseling
What’s the difference between standing up for yourself and retaliating?
YouTube Viewer’s Response: “To this day, this movie taught me the greatest lesson in motherhood: being able to honestly admit when you're not a good fit. Mrs. Wormwood acknowledges that not only does she not know her little girl, she never will because of her own vices. Instead, she does what's best for her daughter and asks "Who's gotta pen?" and, like the movie says, does the first & ironically last right thing they'd ever do for Matilda: give her a better life than they ever could. I will forever praise this movie. I dare say its better than the book in some places and LEAGUES better than that musical”
