North Carolina's $1.09 Billion Unclaimed Money Awaits Owners
North Carolina holds around $1.09 billion in unclaimed money, which belongs to residents who may not be aware of it. Reclaim yours, check it out.
This includes funds from insurance rebates, deposits, or other sources that were not claimed due to reasons like relocation.
The state's Treasurer's office, led by Dale Folwell, has been successful in returning significant amounts, including a notable $248,000 to a life insurance policy beneficiary.

At the Cary Chamber of Commerce’s annual first responder breakfast, attendees were treated to a keynote speech by Scott Kartvedt, a former Blue Angels pilot with 20 years of Navy service, and an actor in "Top Gun: Maverick."
Cary Police Chief Terry Sult underscored the event's importance in recognizing EMS and fire services.

Academic Triumph: Duke University Hits 98% Graduation Rate for Athletes
Duke University stands out among Power 5 schools with a 98 percent Graduation Success Rate for student-athletes who started between 2013 and 2016.
This places Duke sixth nationally, only behind certain Ivy League and other elite institutions. Eighteen of Duke's athletic teams reached a 100 percent GSR, showcasing the university's broad commitment to student-athlete success.
Major programs like men's and women's basketball, football, women's lacrosse, and wrestling also posted high GSR figures. In the ACC, Duke, along with Boston College and Notre Dame, leads with the highest GSR.
2024 Soccer Tournament in Cary: Bigger, Better, and More Inclusive
Cary, North Carolina, is gearing up to host the second edition of The Soccer Tournament from June 5-10, 2024, at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Following the success of the 2023 event, the 2024 tournament will expand to include a women’s tournament, showcasing Cary's commitment to delivering top-tier sporting events.
The town’s mayor, Harold Weinbrecht, has expressed excitement about hosting the event, which aligns with Cary's reputation as a prime location for sports events.
The inclusion of a women's tournament, led by a team organized by former U.S. Women’s National Team star Heather O’Reilly, highlights the tournament's focus on growth and diversity.
