A Narrow Escape: Cary Firefighters Save Great Dane from Old Well
Mudge, a 100-pound Great Dane, fell into an old well on her family's newly bought property in Cary, North Carolina.
Multiple fire departments, including Cary Fire, Fairview Rural Fire, and Swift Creek Fire Department, responded to the emergency call. They used a rope rescue system to safely extract Mudge from the well.
The operation took several hours, but Mudge was rescued with only a small scratch. The incident prompted the family to cover the well and highlighted the importance of being aware of potential hazards on one's property.
Mudge's family expressed deep gratitude to the first responders for their effective and organized rescue effort. Read full story

Veteran-Led A&M Premier: Crafting Roofs and Caring for the Community
A&M Premier Roofing and Construction, under the guidance of co-owners, Stephen Mull and Leonardo Almeida, has quickly risen to prominence in Raleigh and Cary, not just for its top-notch roofing services, but also for its significant contributions to community welfare, predominantly staffed by veterans.
Their collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, offering free roofing to homes and focusing on aiding veterans, showcases their dedication to those who have served.
In addition, their commitment extends beyond their core business, with a non-profit arm dedicated to supporting local children by providing necessary clothing and food, particularly for their school needs.
This dual focus on professional excellence and community support has earned them the title of Raleigh’s best roofing company (and Cary is sure to notice this roofing company, too).
A&M Premier's approach is a testament to the potential of businesses to forge a positive impact in their communities, blending commercial success with a profound sense of corporate responsibility and social consciousness, setting a benchmark in the industry for others to follow.
