Cary, NC: A Top City for Work-Life Balance, Study Finds
Cary, North Carolina, stands out in a national study as the 8th best city for work-life balance.
The study, which examined factors like remote work prevalence and income growth, attributes Cary's high ranking to its 41.4% remote workforce, greatly exceeding the national average.
The analysis, covering 170 cities, also considered health, wellness, and economic stability, with Cary demonstrating a strong performance in these areas. Read full report

Cary Startup's New Epilepsy Safety Device
A Triangle area medical student, Ashlyn Sanders, has created a novel device called PATI (Protector Against Tongue Injury) to help epilepsy patients during seizures.
Unveiled at Atrium Health System's "Discovery Day," PATI is now in its pilot phase. It's a single-use oral device that safely prevents oral injuries during seizures, aligning with the needs of approximately 50 million epilepsy sufferers worldwide.
Sanders, a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University, leads the Cary-based startup NeuroVice, which developed PATI. Read full story

Wake Tech Esports Teams Advance to National Tournament
Wake Technical Community College's Esports teams, in League of Legends and Rocket League, have emerged victorious in the East Regional Divisions and are now contenders in the NJCAAE Premier Series national tournament.
With matches against Muskegon Community College and Guilford Tech scheduled for this weekend, the teams are poised for potential national titles. Wake Tech, a pioneer in integrating Esports into both athletics and academics, previously won the NJCAAE Overwatch national championship in May 2021. Read full story
