Raising the Bar: Night School Offers Classes with Your Cocktails

Night School Bar, situated in Durham, North Carolina, is a unique establishment that combines a bar and an informal classroom, offering college-level courses.

Lindsey Andrews, who has backgrounds in both bartending and academia, created this concept to merge her two worlds. The bar provides a speakeasy-like atmosphere where patrons can engage in courses ranging from art and labor to feminist science fiction while enjoying their drinks.

The business operates on a pay-as-you-can basis, with a suggested fee of $320 per class, but students can pay as little as $10.

This model aims to make learning accessible to a wider audience and provide a decent wage for instructors, typically adjunct professors with other jobs.
