Jim Wilkerson, a Cary resident, was scammed out of over $750,000 in a cryptocurrency investment scheme. Initially successful, the investment soured when he tried to withdraw funds and was falsely accused of money laundering.
However, he hopes that sharing his story will help others avoid similar traps. He warns that if a business proposition seems too good to be true, it likely is.
